So I've temporarily hijacked Lauris blog. And here we are: Pre-Op holding area. ...Since 7 am.
We have an IV. Lauri's boobs have been injected with radioactive material in preparation for the lymph node dissection, and we are waiting for the surgery start time.
By the way. Note to self. When they say the injection "might feel uncomfortable", it is a bit of an understatement. I'm not sure I've seen Lauri turn that shade of red since Ben left the car dome light on and her battery died.
Everyone seems to ask Lauri if she "feels OK". She always answers yes, but cant help but think of the line by Ving Rhames in Pulp Fiction when Bruce Willis asks him if he's OK.
"I'm pretty f...in far from OK"
We were visited by Rabbi Simon. He has really been comforting. I was compelled to show him the line from the movie on Netflix. I spared him the details about the gimp.
More to come once she's out of the OR, but its still another 90 minutes until they start.
