Here Comes The Sun

Sorry campers. It's still David writing this thing. At least until "Demerol-brain" can get her energy back.

We had a great night last night. Lauri slept 8 hrs, and is now able to just about get up on her own without yelling out, "Ma! Where's the meatloaf?!"

The nursing staff here on 2-east has really been great. They don't seem to hold a grudge aginst Lauri because she's married to me. It's such a cliche', but it is good to be on the other side for a change...for both of us.

Let me also just take a second to thank you all again. We had so many visitors, phone calls, email and text messages yesterday. It really "fills our buckets"! Thank you for the flowers, gifts and food. You guys are awesome.

Hopefully, they will set us free this morning. There is really nothing that should keep us here.

Lauri just farted....I'm so proud of her.

David

  1. I love when others have full buckets! That has really been a fantastic analogy over the last few years. Still have to remind the boys regularly! I am so glad that the night was better. Should be smooth sailing from here. Let us know when you guys head home and when you are open for visiting hours. I don't have clinic tomorrow so if I can stop by and bring anything after rounds I would love to. Love you guys!!

  2. hahaha. I hope Lauri doesn't mind the gastric intimacy! This blog was such a great idea -- I really appreciate the updates. Please pass along the most gentlest of hugs from me. Or at least let her know I love her and I am thinking of her.
